Packaging Council of Australia Inc. was formed in 1978 by merger of National Packaging Association (established in 1950) and the Packaging Industry Environment Council (established in 1972).

The Council is an association of Packaging manufacturers/users with interest in trade and export promotion.

  Staff:
Five full time and three part time. The association has 5 state divisions. National

  Membership:
Membership is available to suppliers & users of packaging. There are 150 members.

  Training Services:
The Council conducts seminars of duration varying from one to two weeks. It also conducts "Introduction to Packaging" course of six half days, for members and non-members.

  Information Services:
 PCA newsletter is published 10 times a year and distributed to members only. Packaging Today, published 4 times a year and distributed to members and to nonmembers on a charged basis.
A small library with packaging related books, reviews over 100 packaging-related journals.

  Publications:
AIP National News circulated to members.

  Financing:
Members subscription, fees for seminars, programmes and other income-generating activities.
